In the approach to the summer transfer window, several Premier League clubs were linked with a move for Marash Kumbulla.

Everton, Chelsea and both Manchester clubs were said to be interested in the Hellas Verona defender, and it looked like there would be a battle for his signing this summer.

Things then went quiet, and now L’Arena, a newspaper local to the Serie A club, brings what they present as the latest, with Tottenham dragged into the picture.

L’Arena explain Kumbulla has experienced a strange year, seeing all the transfer claims and then no actual approaches. Verona are looking for €28m for the 20-year-old, but it’s believed that’s unrealistic in this market.

Inter Milan, AS Roma and Lazio have all been interested, and there’s also clubs outside of Serie A who are keen.

L’Arena say ‘watch out’ for Tottenham, because Jose Mourinho has moved into the picture for the potential signing. There’s no official offer from Spurs at this stage, and for Kumbulla it’s a case of continuing to wait for a club to turn their interest into something more concrete.
