Corriere dello Sport continue to try and convince themselves that Manchester United may have some interest in taking Christian Eriksen away from his Inter Milan nightmare.
The Denmark international moved to Inter in January from Tottenham, with his Spurs contract then coming towards its end. There was great fanfare in the Italian media, with it being insisted the Serie A club had got themselves something of a bargain.
After a reasonable start things quickly went wrong, with manager Antonio Conte not being impressed the player and edging him away from prominence.
Subsequently, a January exit is being talked up, and the Italian media are searching around for options. Intermediaries are on the case, and this is what saw claims of a possible swap move with Arsenal, involving Granit Xhaka.
Corriere dello Sport cover that again on Saturday, also touch on Chelsea interest, and then state: ‘Watch out for Man United’
The insinuation is that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side could make a move when the winter market opens, although it feels more like hope than expectation.
Inter’s chances of getting Fred in a deal for Eriksen are talked down, given the Brazilian is a regular with Manchester United.
