Tottenham Hotspur’s Bryan Gil sealed a loan move to Valencia on the deadline day of the winter market.

The winger swapped Sevilla for the north London club last summer and in his first few months in England, he managed just over 750 minutes of action from 20 matches in all competitions, and he is yet to start a league game for the Premier League side.

Lack of playing time, especially after Antonio Conte replaced Nuno Espírito Santo, saw the 20-year-old get linked with a return to Spain.

Although there were other La Liga sides that wanted to take Gil on a temporary deal, he decided to make a switch to Mestalla.

Earlier reports indicated Valencia manager José Bordalás ‘wanted’ Gil and he has finally managed to have the player at his disposal.

The Tottenham owned attacker has now admitted Bordalás was one of the reasons behind his decision to join Los Ches.

“I think it [Bordalás’ style] will help me a lot. I hope to grow as a player and contribute to the maximum to the coach and the team. I want to gain a little more experience and work a lot,” he said, as quoted by Sport.

“I come here to give everything, to make the fans and the club enjoy themselves. I’m sure we’re going to do great things.”

Sport also add Gill ‘wanted to return to La Liga’ in the recent concluded window. After sealing a loan transfer to Valencia, he said: “It is a special day for me. I wanted to be here.”

“My family is also very happy. They wanted me to return to Spain and now it’s time to enjoy the team and the city.”

“My visit to Mestalla last year was sad, since we went down with Eibar, but I hope that this year, in this stadium, the afternoons will be full of joy. I really want to step in the stadium, to see the fans there and to win as soon as possible.”
