Monday evening sees Italy’s TMW give their take on Junior Firpo moving to Leeds United.
Claims have been coming throughout the day from the Spanish and Italian media on the transfer, with it being presented as a move that’s going to be concluded within the next week.
The Spanish media have been crediting Marcelo Bielsa and Victor Orta with convincing the player to snub AC Milan and move to Elland Road instead, whilst in Italy Andrea Radrizzani has been pinpointed as the man who has helped Leeds snatch the signing from the Rossoneri’s clutches.
TMW make it sound like they’ve spoken to Firpo’s representatives, and say the player’s entourage believe a deal could be sealed in the next 24-48 hours.
From their viewpoint, the decision to move to Leeds and not Milan is entirely down to the structure of the deal. The Serie A side wanted a loan move, and Barcelona much prefer the chance of a permanent transfer to the Premier League club, therefore contacts were frozen with the Italians.
Firpo is said to agree, looking forward to some stability in his career.
TMW say the player is now ‘waiting to sign a contract until 2026 with Leeds’.
