Flamengo vice-president Marcos Braz today held a press conference, and among the transfer business he talked about, there was a chat about Andreas Pereira.
It’s been recently reported in Brazil that the Rio de Janeiro side submitted an offer for the permanent signing of the Manchester United midfielder, who’s loaned until next summer.
Asked if there’s been a response from the Red Devils about this bid, Marcos Braz claimed that Flamengo are still waiting for it, as the January transfer window could have an impact on Pereira’s future.
“The English have still not responded, maybe due to the closing of the window, which is today,” said Marcos Braz (via R7).
“They could be waiting for some possibility, some proposal. We have not received a response regarding the proposal.”
The word in Brazil is that Flamengo offered around €8m for Andreas Pereira. That’s way below the buying option, which stands at €20m.
However, since there are still six months until the end of the loan spell, the Rubro Negro are willing to negotiate with patience and raise their bid little by little.
So it will be no shock if this first attempt is turned down by Manchester United.
