Leeds United’s failure to make it back to the Premier League has the vultures circling, with Bayer Leverkusen eyeing a €20m deal for Crysencio Summerville.

That’s according to SportBILD, who say the Bundesliga champions believe a cut price deal can be done for the Dutch star because of Leeds’ financial woes.

The newspaper explains that Xabi Alonso’s side are gearing up for a busy summer of strengthening after their exploits this season and next season’s title defence, plus their entry into the Champions League.

They want at least one winger and a striker for their offence and Leeds United star Summerville is a name who could fill one of those positions.

According to them, it is clear that Summerville will be departing Leeds this summer after their failure to make it back to the Premier League.

Because of that ‘the price is falling’ for the winger and it is now well established that Leeds need to secure sales, and big ones at that, to help balance the books, despite Red Bull’s purchase of a stake in the club.

Summerville is one player that the vultures are eyeing up as a result and there is a belief he can be got for €20m, a figure well below his value given the season he’s just had in the Championship.

The feeling is that Leeds are under pressure and Bayer Leverkusen can take advantage of it to strengthen a key position and on the cheap to boot.
