Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has mainly used Amad Diallo on the right wing this season.
The Ivory Coast international has picked up a goal already, and his performances for the Red Devils helped him earn a call-up for September’s international break.
Diallo made his debut for Ivory Coast in 2021 and made two more appearances that year. Since then, the Manchester United man has played only once. That was back in March, after Emerse Faé took charge of the national team at the start of this year.
Faé has again included the 22-year-old in the squad to face Zambia and Chad in AFCON qualifiers this month.
Wednesday’s edition of the Ivorian newspaper Fraternité Matin has a report on the attacker, titled: ‘Amad Diallo puts on the show’. Within the report, it’s claimed excitement is building around what he can do for the team.
On Tuesday, Ivory Coast had an open training session in Abidjan and the winger was able to showcase his qualities. The reports says supporters were impressed applauded the Manchester United attacker.
Fraternité Matin state: ‘Obviously very strong, he was appreciated for his technical qualities, his movements without the ball, his great vision of the game and especially his dribbling.’
Diallo struggled with injuries last season, forcing him to spend over 150 days on the sidelines. The fitness concerns now appear to be behind him.
The newspaper claims Diallo is ‘visibly very fit’ and this is good news for both Manchester United and his country. There’s anticipation for him to do well against Zambia and Chad, and exciting is certainly building around the youngster.
