Before the World Cup, the Spanish media had already been featuring stories about Atletico Madrid being willing to sell João Félix, with Manchester United being pointed out as one of the potential destinations for the 23-year-old.

It turns out that unlike in his season with the Colchoneros, his performances in Qatar have been pretty good, and that’s now seen as a ‘showcase’ for a January move.

As outlet AS today writes about the Atlético Madrid player, they claim Felix is ‘vindicating himself in a big way’ at the World Cup, ‘raising his price’ for an ‘imminent transfer’.

What Manchester United should be aware of is that, according to AS, his performances in Qatar are working as a ‘boost for the numbers of suitors to grow’.

Despite Felix’s impressive performances, Atletico still don’t seem keen on keeping him, as it’s said his transfer is ‘considered to be a good market operation’, while his future at the La Liga side is ‘complicated’.

That’s why the January window will be a proper time for the interested clubs to show up. As recently reported by the Spanish press, Manchester United’s bid is about to be made.
