Besiktas’ Thursday night match against Osmanlispor was described as Cenk Tosun’s goodbye game before his move to Everton.

With the transfer now seen as a done deal in Turkey, the match gave Besiktas fans a chance to say farewell to their star striker, and for him to do likewise.

Tosun scored in the game, and after the final whistle he approached the club’s fans to give a show of appreciation. That’s been taken up by Besiktas’ huge social media following, and seen as a clear goodbye ahead of the Everton switch.

The reaction of Senol Gunes, Besiktas’ manager, is also getting a lot of attention, with his expression being seen as one of fondness for the player.

Everton are thought to be paying around €25m for the Turkish international, in what will be a record transfer for a player leaving the Super Lig.

Several other Premier League clubs had been linked with a move for Tosun, with Crystal Palace making efforts in the last summer window.
