On Tuesday morning, Marca reported Kiko Casilla was out of Real Madrid training ahead of a possible transfer. They didn’t say the destination, but in the previous days had made clear it was Leeds United.

Then AS and Mundo Deportivo, two more Spanish sport newspapers, joined in and made it clear the presumption is the goalkeeper was out of the pre-Leganes training session because of an impending move to Leeds, who have been the only club seriously linked recently.

After that, the fourth of Spain’s major sport papers, Sport, added the move to Leeds is ‘very close’ and could be done in the ‘coming hours’, all that seems to be missing is Casilla turning up in Yorkshire and an announcement being made over the transfer.

Bernabeu Digital, who specialise on Real Madrid, say the 32 year old is waiting to travel to England.

Now AS have a fresh article, explaining it’s Victor Orta who has ‘convinced’ the club to let Casilla join on a free transfer. They say he’ll travel in the next few hours, and that Leeds United are confident the deal can be completed soon.

It’s a step forward for the Championship club this window, having seen players leave rather than arrive so far. Things are moving.
