We don’t normally cover what footballers’ wives say about their other halves, but we’ll make an exception today because it’s being covered in the Swedish sport media.

Victor Lindelöf isn’t part of Manchester United’s squad for the Saturday match against Fulham. Now, if we’re all honest, there was once a time that wouldn’t mean a great deal, other than a shortage of numbers, but recently the defender has become increasingly important.

Like several, maybe all, of his teammates, the Sweden international looks a player with renewed confidence under Ole Gunnar Solskjær and has become a crucial part of the Manchester United team.

Therefore, his absence causes some stress for supporters of the Premier League club, especially a few days before they’re set to face PSG in the Champions League.

Sweden’s Fotbollskanalen have read Maja Nilsson Lindelöf’s Saturday blog and believe all is well, quoting the blog as saying: ‘Victor is at home and rests today so I have decided that we should have a real Saturday.’

Naturally, we went to check out the blog directly, and the line we get is the following: ‘Victor is home today so I have decided that we should have a REAL Saturday. I’m going to work out now when he’s asleep then I’ll shop for lunch and dinner, football should be watched and then we can fix the baby room.’

It doesn’t sound like there’s any injury worry whatsoever, just a rest. And, on top of that, the Lindelöfs seem to be living the perfect time right now, on and off the pitch.

It’s all good.
