Fulham are one of the clubs in the picture to sign San Lorenzo de Almagro goalkeeper Orlando Gill in the summer window.
That’s according to San Lorenzo Website, and they cover comments made by the 24-year-old’s agent, Mariano Zelaya.
The representative claims Bologna and Genoa are both keen and his client has received an offer from the Premier League. He hasn’t made it clear the details of the team, and the outlet suggests Fulham is the club.
“Bologna and Genoa are interested. There’s also a very important offer from the Premier League [Fulham], and there’s also an offer from Brazilian football,” he said.
The Paraguayan graduated from Club Sportivo San Lorenzo [Paraguayan club] and left them to join the Argentine club in January 2024.
Gill made 18 appearances so far of which 17 are from this year and kept nine clean sheets and conceded 11 goals in the process. His contract expires in December 2027.
Despite receiving approaches from Fulham and other clubs, the agent insists his client’s preference is to finish this year at San Lorenzo de Almagro.
“What I always tell Orlando is to take it slow. He’s at a big club, which gave him the opportunity and visibility. I want him to stay until the end of the year because he’s fighting to be part of the national team,” Zelaya explained.
“Where a player builds his career is crucial. You have to be very careful where he plays and with which manager. If a player tells me ‘I want to make history with the national team,’ then the responsibility is huge.
“Today, Orlando has San Lorenzo and his national team on his mind. We’ll work through our options slowly.”
The goalkeeper hasn’t made his debut for Paraguay but that could change soon. Paraguay manager Gustavo Alfaro called him up for the two games against Chile and Colombia in March.
