RB Leipzig eliminated Tottenham Hotspur from the Champions League as Spurs suffered defeats in both legs of the knockout fixtures.
Marcel Sabitzer starred for the Bundesliga side in the second leg tie and the Austria international scored a brace in London.
Since then reports have started linking the 26-year-old with a move to the north London club and it was also suggested José Mourinho likes the player.
Sport1 asked Sabitzer ‘How happy are you that José Mourinho is said to like you’.
Responding to that, he said: “It is only speculation if this is actually the case. I read it too, but he didn’t tell me personally. So, I don’t know if it really is.”
Sabitzer also admitted he will have to reconsider his own plans because the transfer market is uncertain due to the Covid-19 crisis.
“Of course, we can count ourselves lucky. As an Austrian, I can only praise my homeland for how the situation was dealt with. It was similar in Germany,” Sabitzer said.
“You always had dreams and visions, you now have a lot of time to think about them. But there is an overall uncertainty, also regarding the transfer market. I’ll wait and see, I’m relaxed. Then we will keep looking.”
Sabitzer has 15 goals and eight assists in all competitions for Leipzig this season, which includes four goals and two assists in seven Champions League matches.
He is a versatile player as Julian Nagelsmann has used Sabitzer as an attacking midfielder, central midfielder and a right winger this season.
