Celta Vigo’s Brais Méndez is on the radar of Southampton and Norwich City, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.
Operating mainly as a right winger, the 24-year-old was deployed across various attacking positions and also as a central midfielder last season. He finished the campaign with nine goals in 34 league appearances.
Méndez’s form for the La Liga side almost helped him earn a place in Luis Enrique’s Spain squad for Euro 2020, as a potential replacement for Sergio Busquets, after the Barcelona player tested positive for Covid-19.
TMW state that ‘for his tactical flexibility’, the Spaniard is ‘liked’ by the Saints and Daniel Farke’s side.
Apart from Southampton and the newly promoted Premier League side, an unnamed ‘big London club’ are also keen on the Celta star.
It’s claimed the versatile player is receiving ‘many calls, especially from the Premier League’. This may convince him to end his time with Celta and make a switch elsewhere this summer.
Méndez still has three more years left on his contract with the La Liga side.
