Denis Cheryshev and Ruben Sobrino goals at Celtic Park gave Valencia a 2-0 first leg lead against Celtic, and the return leg is tonight.

On February 20th, we covered a report from Super Deporte, who claimed that Rodrigo Moreno, Gabriel Paulista and Cristiano Piccini are set to miss the midweek Europa League clash.

AS has predicted the lineup for the two sides in today’s edition of the Spanish newspaper and we focus on Los Che’s starting XI to face Celtic.

They expect Marcelino to start with Neto in goal with a centre-back partnership of Ezequiel Garay and Mouctar Diakhaby, who started in the previous leg in Scotland.

Toni Lato will start in the left-back position, while midfielder Daniel Wass could drop to fill in the right-back slot.

A groin injury kept Gonçalo Guedes on the sidelines for close to two months before he returned to action earlier in February. He is expected to get some minutes and Marcelino could start him on the left wing against Brendan Rodgers’ side.

AS predicts Ferran Torres to start on the right wing, with Daniel Parejo and Carlos Soler as the two midfielders.

Sobrino retains his place in the European competition and Cheryshev is replaced by Santi Mina. The duo will lead Valencia’s attack against Celtic.

AS also claims that Celtic have never won in Spain, but football is ‘unpredictable’ so they don’t rule out the visitors registering their first win, against Valencia.
