Marca Aymen Abdennour August 18thIf Everton’s interest in Aymen Abdennour doesn’t turn into an actual bid, then Valencia are set to take drastic action, report Marca in their Valencia section on Thursday.

Valencia need to sell players in order to comply with FFP rules, and Abdennour is their prime target. The Tunisian didn’t have the best of seasons after joining with great hype from AS Monaco, and they want him and his relatively high wages gone.

Everton rumours have been dragging on for a week and if nothing happens soon, then Marca say Valencia will begin to offer Shkodran Mustafi around Premier League clubs.

Mustafi’s sale would bring enough to ease Valencia’s worries over FFP, and he had a good season so there’s likely to be more interest. Liverpool have been linked, but there doesn’t appear to be anything hugely concrete there yet.

There seems a solution to us here, if Arsenal aren’t going to actually move, and Everton want a central defender but aren’t convinced enough by Abdennour… then move for Mustafi.

He knows the club having spent time there in his youth, and showed last season that he’s better than his teammate.
