Carlos Corberán spent over two years at West Bromwich Albion before leaving them for Valencia in December. The La Liga club are looking at the Championship and specifically at Sheffield Wednesday to improve their squad in the summer window.

That’s according to journalist Ángel García, relayed by El Desmarque, who states Los Ches are considering signing Sheffield Wednesday’s Josh Windass.

The 31-year-old joined Sheffield Wednesday on loan in January 2020, and his stay was made permanent later that year. The Valencia manager had spells at Huddersfield Town and West Brom and knows Windass from his time in the Championship.

Corberán even considered signing the attacking midfielder for West Brom, but it’s unclear why the Baggies didn’t make advances. The coach is now looking to bring the Englishman to the Spanish club in the upcoming window.

Earlier this month, the player extended his contract with Sheffield Wednesday until 2026. Windass has played his entire career in the UK and García makes no mention if he or the Owls are open to doing business in the summer.

He scored 13 goals and registered six assists from 47 games for Sheffield Wednesday this season.
