Fresh off claims that Moussa Dembélé has missed training at Celtic this morning, the French press are trying to gauge the situation, giving updates on where he could end up.
Having been forced to sell Mariano Diaz back to Real Madrid, Lyon appear to be in the lead, as revealed by L’Equipe journalist Bilel Ghazi, who took to Twitter to confirm the Ligue 1 side were currently negotiating the striker’s transfer with Brendan Rodgers’ club.
However, he added there was little chance of anything being made official on Wednesday, as talks don’t appear to be that advanced just yet.
Over at Marseille, who are also said to have made contact with the Celtic striker and his entourage, the news isn’t quite as positive.
Local newspaper La Provence state the chances of Rudi Garcia getting a new striker have been described within the club as ‘weak at best’.
Marseille’s president, Jacques-Henri Eyraud doesn’t particularly expect a new arrival (other than Nemanja Radonjic’s) before the end of the transfer window, even if ‘anything can happen’ if the ‘right opportunity’ pops up.
So, as things stand for Celtic’s Moussa Dembélé, it appears to be advantage Jean-Michel Aulas and Lyon.
