Let’s be honest, Alexis Sanchez can appear a bit soft. Like many top footballers he writhes around and feign serious injury, when there’s nothing really wrong with him.
The Arsenal star has posted images to Instagram of ‘injuries’ which stretch the definition of the word, and this week he posted a picture of his ankle. Sanchez had received an ankle knock and the picture showed a ‘badly swollen ankle’ according to many reports.
It didn’t really look that bad.
However, since then, Sanchez has taken the image down, and got straight back into training for Chile. There had been worry in the Arsenal player’s adoring country that Sanchez could miss Chile’s next Confederations Cup match, but he hasn’t even missed a training session.
La Tercera report that Sanchez was first out on the training pitch, like nothing had ever happened. He didn’t even need to work with the doctor first.
It’s not the first time Sanchez has pulled off a medical miracle whilst away with Chile, and once again Arsene Wenger is probably a worried onlooker.
Sanchez may like to complain about pain, but he certainly won’t let it hold him back.
