Tottenham’s disappointing week looked like it could get even worse on Sunday as Junior Stanislas put Bournemouth ahead in the first ten minutes.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men showed some resolve and came back to secure a 4-1 victory, somewhat marred by the injury to Harry Kane.
Son Heung-min was the Spurs star of the show but he was well aided by Serge Aurier. The fullback has had an up and down time since arriving at Tottenham from PSG in the summer, and this was certainly one his better games.
A goal, an assist, and a good all round performance against Bournemouth have seen Gazzetta dello Sport pick Aurier in their European Team of the Week.
Each Monday the grand old Italian newspaper select an eleven of the best performers from around Europe, ignoring their own Serie A, and the Tottenham defender has been included, very strangely put in the centre of a three man defence.
Aurier is one of three Premier League players to make the grade, joined by Marcus Rashford and Kenedy.
