Yesterday Fenerbahce lost to their arch-rivals Trabzonspor and the Turkish giants are now sitting just a point above the relegation zone.

The Yellow Canaries are experiencing their worst ever start to a league campaign and more criticism has been aimed towards Islam Slimani after the Leicester City loanee put in another disappointing performance.

Slimani has only managed to score one league goal for Fenerbahce since joining from Leicester City and his contribution yesterday has been questioned.

Speaking about the Algerian, well known Turkish correspondent Mehmet Demirkol said in Fanatik: “Slimani… He is doing literally nothing in front of goal, it is incredible. He couldn’t make a simple pass that resulted in a Trabzonspor goal. He’s an unbelievable disappointment.”

This latest criticism comes after a claim last week Fenerbahce are considering terminating their contract with the Leicester City player in the new year. The coaching staff are said to be be unimpressed with the attacker and are looking to bring in a replacement when the window opens.

A return to the Foxes could be on the agenda in January, but it doesn’t seem like he has a future under Claude Puel.
