Reports linking Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes with Inter Milan have been quickly talked down in Italy, where it’s made clear he’s ‘unattainable’ for the club.

Passion e Inter cover the reports today and pour cold water on them, insisting Fernandes isn’t a realistic target for the Italian champions and isn’t what they most need right now.

They claim that Fernandes being linked with a move to Inter is ‘incredible’ as he’s one of the best midfielders around and the undisputed star at Manchester United.

Such a report has undoubtedly stirred up interest among Inter’s fan base, but the reality is that it is very unlikely to happen.

First of all, his valuation, around €70m, is ‘unattainable’ for Inter Milan, who would have to make major sacrifices, which they don’t wan to do, if they were to pay such a sum for him.

Secondly, from a tactical point of view it’s hard to see where he would fit in given the Nerazzurri midfield is already packed with talent and set to add Piotr Zielinski in the summer.

That will take their number of midfielders to six, three starters and three alternatives, and so it is ‘unthinkable’ that Inter Milan would then go out and add another to that mix for such a high price.

They’re already well set up and so Fernandes isn’t on their radar, even if he does decide now is the time to leave Manchester United, which again may be unlikely.
