At the weekend, Arsenal were linked by the Algerian media to FC Porto winger Yacine Brahimi.
As reported by Alg24, the Gunners’ new manager Unai Emery would be keen on having the 28-year-old in the squad for next season, with the player also interested in moving to the Premier League.
Now the Portuguese press has obviously reacted to the rumour on Monday, and their view on the story is that the transfer is quite likely to happen, at least if Arsenal really want it to.
With 12 goals and 10 assists this season, Brahimi has been pretty important to Porto’s league title this season, and that’s why they would like to keep him. With his contract expiring in 2019, the club are pressured to accept a sale now instead of taking the risk of losing him for free next year.
The deal looks even more possible because Porto’s demands aren’t too big. The club will ask for only €30m, even knowing that they only get 50% of this fee, as the other half goes to Doyen Sports.
So with Brahimi wanting the move and Porto not asking for a lot of money, it seems the only thing stopping this transfer would be Arsenal not making an attempt for the player. Let’s see if the Algerian reports are to be believed.
