Unai Emery has made it clear Arsenal will only be able to bring in a player on loan due to financial constraints.
Wednesday’s edition of Sport has a story on Denis Suarez of Barcelona with a headline ‘Arsenal waits for Denis’.
The former Paris Saint-Germain manager has already given the ‘OK’ to sign the midfielder and the north London club now want the player ‘as soon as possible’.
However, they only want him on a loan deal, while the La Liga winners want to raise funds from his sale, either in January or at the end of the season, which is why they want to include a mandatory purchase option as a part of the temporary deal.
The Catalan newspaper mentions that for the aforementioned reasons, the deal is not ‘so simple’.
The ex-Villarreal man’s situation at the Camp Nou has changed of late. Last summer, he didn’t want to leave and didn’t feature in the first few months of the season. Since he decided to leave Barca, Ernesto Valverde has handed him opportunities to play.
Sport mentions Suarez only wants to leave the club for Arsenal and if not, the 25-year-old has already shown Valverde that he can count on him.
At this point, neither of the clubs are ready to reach a compromise.
Barcelona have made it clear that Suarez will not be allowed to leave if there is money included in the deal.
