Spanish outlet AS is pretty sure that the Getafe defender Dakonam Djené continues to be a target for the Arsenal boss Unai Emery.

The outlet claims today that the manager has been at the Mestalla Stadium this weekend, where he watched his former club Valencia playing Getafe.

They say that more than watching a possible Europa League rival, Emery was also scouting a certain player who he’s been interested in for some time now.

AS writes that Djene had already been a target for the Gunners last summer, but at that time, Getafe demanded the amount of his release clause, which is €35m.

It’s claimed that Djene had a great performance against Valencia, but that’s not something new for Emery, since he’s been following the Getafe defender for a long time now.

AS say that the former Sevilla and PSG manager is ‘captivated’ by the player, and that Arsenal ‘will return’ for him.
