Romelu Lukaku’s return to Chelsea is on the right track and with the west London club’s need to sign a new striker and Inter Milan wanting to raise money, a deal is likely to be concluded soon.

On August 9th, we carried a report from Sky Italia, who explained the striker was ‘flying on a private jet’ to London.

That, however, isn’t true, according to Calciomercato. It’s said the 28-year-old carried out the first part of his Chelsea medical at the Columbus Clinic in Milan yesterday afternoon.

The Belgium international arrived at the airport around 19:30, where he boarded a private jet to make a trip to Nice.

As per the report, both the player and his agent, Federico Pastorello, landed in the French city late on Monday.

It’s claimed the ex-Manchester United man and his agent have a meeting scheduled in Monaco on Tuesday, and this ‘stop’ is to ‘resolve the final issues’ before making a trip to the English capital and completing a move to Chelsea.

Calciomercato’s claims are also relayed up by Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, who stressed Lukaku will travel to his ‘final destination’ London after the meeting in Monaco.

Anyone who was tracking the private jet which left Milan’s Linate after Lukaku arrived at the airport, will also have noticed it landed in Nice.
