AC Milan’s Diego Laxalt is set to join Celtic on deadline day, according to multiple reports coming out of Italy.

‘Future in Scotland for Diego Laxalt’, explains TuttoMercatoWeb, and then adds the 27-year-old is close to joining the Bhoys.

The website states the Uruguay international ‘will arrive at Celtic Park’ on a season-long loan deal.

Calciomercato also explains the left-back will join Neil Lennon’s side on a temporary deal

He is not included in Stefano Pioli’s plans for the 2020/21 season, and therefore, the Serie A side have decided to send him out on loan to the Scottish Premiership club.

It’s claimed the former Genoa man is scheduled to undergo his medical in London on Monday and then sign a contract with Celtic.

Neither TMW nor Calciomercato explains whether it’s just a dry loan deal or if Celtic will have an option to make the South American’s transfer permanent next summer.

Laxalt spent last season on loan at Torino, making 24 league appearances in all competitions, which included only four league starts.
