Manchester United reportedly have had Kieran Trippier on their agenda since the start of this year.

The Red Devils wanting to sign the right-back is now reported by multiple outlets in Spain today.

Sport on Friday claim the 30-year-old has suitors, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are ‘interested’ in him.

With the Old Trafford club also having their eyes on Real Madrid’s Raphaël Varane, the report states they are ‘determined to weigh in the city of Madrid’.

According to Sport, the former Burnley man is an ‘important’ player for Diego Simeone and his ‘intention is to stay’ with the La Liga winners. Therefore, it will be ‘difficult’ for United to take the defender away from the Wanda Metropolitano.

Over at AS, they explain the England international’s form for Atlético has caught attention of the Premier League sides, including Manchester United. However, the Spanish champions intention is the player ‘does not move’ this summer.

His contract, according to AS, was automatically renewed until 2023 after he reached 20 appearances for Simeone’s side last season. The report points out the fullback’s market value is €20m.

Both AS and Sport explain United have an interest in signing Trippier, something that’s also been reported by the British press.

The two newspapers, however, add Atlético have no intention to cut ties with the right-back, who has ‘fitted perfectly since he arrived’ in 2019.
