Three days ago, Het Belang van Limburg reported Anderlecht are interested in Manchester City’s Lukas Nmecha.
Het Nieuwsblad on Thursday explain the Jupiler Pro League club are edging closer towards signing the striker on a loan deal.
It’s claimed that only a ‘few details’ were left on Wednesday night for the 21-year-old to join Vincent Kompany’s side.
According to the report, if everything goes as per the plan, the Germany U21 international will be presented as the new Anderlecht striker on Thursday.
Anderlecht opted to take the City player on loan because it’s expensive to invest in a new striker in the current climate. In addition to this, Nmecha’s arrival won’t block the development of Landry Dimata and Antoine Colassin at the club.
Nmecha was on loan at VfL Wolfsburg and Middlesbrough last season, but he failed to score for both clubs.
However, that has not put Anderlecht off, as there’s ‘consensus within the club’ about the attacker’s arrival. It’s further explained it wasn’t just Kompany who pushed for Nmecha’s signing.
Het Nieuwsblad also state Nmecha has already arrived in Brussels to seal a loan move to Anderlecht.
DH have echoed claims made by Het Nieuwsblad, and they state Anderlecht are expecting to officially present Nmecha later today.
