On Wednesday, De Telegraaf and AD disagreed about FC Utrecht signing a Manchester United player.
Whilst both are reliable Dutch outlets, it was always De Telegraaf’s claims which looked the most solid.
AD had claimed Andreas Pereira was on his way to Utrecht for the season, with all the agreement being in place for a move. That came as something of a surprise.
Sport Witness were informed last weekend, and have been again several times through the week, that Pereira knows noting of a move and the club hasn’t been working on an exit.
Things can quickly change, especially at this stage of the window, but on Wednesday it hadn’t for Pereira.
De Telegraaf had stated it would be Matty Willock moving from Manchester United to Utrecht on loan, after the Dutch club asked for a midfielder.
Now both De Telegraaf and AD agreed that Utrecht will present Willock as a new signing today, with AD adding he’s the back-up option to Pereira after Jose Mourinho ruled out that option.
And that may be as exciting as Manchester United’s deadline day gets.
