On Monday, a report from Italy appeared claiming that Hector Bellerin had handed in a transfer request to Arsenal in order to secure an exit this summer.
Calciomercato were the ones pushing the story, which we covered, and their information is now being backed up by Gazzetta dello Sport.
Looking at who Inter could get at right-back in the coming months to replace Achraf Hakimi, the Italian newspaper state the Spaniard has ‘Serie A in mind and made it clear with a concrete move, by communicating to the Gunners executives the desire to be sold’.
That works perfectly in Inter’s hands, since it puts them in a ‘position of strength’, as they push to get Bellerin on loan with a view to buy, and not an obligation.
Unlike their efforts to sign Denzel Dumfries, the Italians can approach this one ‘more calmly’, as the defender ‘wants the Nerazzurri club’.
They can therefore ‘control the game’ of negotiations going forward, knowing full well they have the player pushing for the move over in London going forward.
This is all further corroborated by Corriere dello Sport, as they state Bellerin has ‘moved personally with the Arsenal management to ask for the sale’ and that ‘it’s clear his purpose is precisely to wear the Nerazzurri shirt’.
Now, they just need to convince Arsenal to move away from the idea of a compulsory option to buy, at which point this should be a fairly easy deal to solve.
