When Manchester City’s Eliaquim Mangala was spotted at Lyon’s facilities the story was taken far further by some in the media. Eager to land a scoop and convey more knowledge then they actually had, some stated that a deal was imminent.
It wasn’t an outlandish conclusion to make, a player being spotted at another’s club’s training facilities usually means a transfer is on the cards, but it was more complicated this time. Straightaway the French media were reporting that Mangala was just having a look around, with neither club nor player convinced on a transfer.
Mangala was said to have other options, as did Lyon, and the French club were concerned about the finances of a transfer. That concern remains the same and L’Equipe report Lyon have the left the track.
Secondly, Jason Denayer to Lyon also appears to be dead, according to L’Equipe. The Manchester City owned defender is edging towards another club, with Besiktas named as the latest option.
