Anyone who watches the Championship, even on a semi-regular basis, will know that it’s a league full of talent these days.

Long gone is the time when the quality in England’s second-tier was far inferior to what was on offer in the top-flight.

No, the Championship is a league with numerous quality players and, according to Queens Park Rangers midfielder Ilias Chair, the best can currently be found playing for Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion.

Chair arrived in England back in 2018 but has enjoyed something of a breakthrough season with QPR this year, racking up 20 appearances in all competitions so far.

That’s seen him come up against the best in the division so far, including league leaders West Brom and second-placed Leeds United.

And, according to the 22-year-old, the best players in the division are currently playing for both of those sides.

“The Championship is very competitive,” he revealed in an interview with Walfoot.

“It is a very tough championship, where the last can beat the first without being surprised.

“If I had to name two (players – Jake) Livermore, of West Brom, and Kalvin Phillips of Leeds United. Two excellent players, who put me in great difficulty.”
