On Saturday, France’s Le10 Sport published a report saying Ligue 1 side Caen have positioned themselves to sign Fousseni Diabaté from Leicester City.
Caen are currently 16th out of 20 in France’s top division and will be looking for value additions during the January transfer window. With that in mind, they’d be looking to loan the player until the end of the current season.
Sunday sees further French claims, this time from L’Equipe, that Turkish club Fenerbahce are also interested.
Fenebahce are having a struggle with their season, and they’re hoping to sign the Leicester player during the winter market.
There’s no explanation of whether a deal would be loan or permanent, but given how Turkish clubs normally approach these things then the former is likelier.
Diabaté signed for Leicester City in the January 2018 market from Gazélec Ajaccio, and he’s not really made an impact.
This season has seen 55 minutes of Premier League football, all coming in a match against Fulham, and two EFL Cup appearances.
