Manchester United’s attempts to offload Jesse Lingard to Serie A clubs don’t seem to be going very well.
It’s Italian outlet Calciomercato who brings a story about it today, saying more than one club have rejected the chance of signing the England international.
They claim it all started in the summer, with Lingard being offered to Milan, and the Rossoneri turning down the 28-year-old’s transfer.
The last attempt has now been made towards Inter, and the result wasn’t any different. Manager Antonio Conte and director Beppe Marotta are both said to be cautious about the transfer market and didn’t get excited with the possibility.
Jesse Lingard only has 179 minutes played in a total of three appearances this season, and is clearly not in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans at the club.
Since his contract with the Red Devils only expires in 2022, the club have at least one more year trying to cash in with his sale. However, the destination which worked for the likes of Diogo Dalot, Matteo Darmian, Ashley Young, Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku couldn’t solve the issue this time.
