Still unregistered by Brighton & Hove Albion in their Premier League squad, Ezequiel Schelotto needs to find himself a new landing spot to continue his career.

Just over a week ago, TuttoMercatoWeb reported QPR were one of the clubs interested in the former Italy international, alongside SPAL in Serie A.

Explaining to the Italian press in December that he’d talk to his agent about a January exit if nothing changed, it appears Schelotto has done just that, and now Empoli have joined the list of clubs after the 29-year-old’s services.

The same website reports SPAL and Empoli are the two clubs who could land the Brighton & Hove Albion man, but would have to settle for a loan, probably unable to afford or unwilling to risk a full transfer.

It appears QPR have disappeared, perhaps moving on to other targets, but with two Serie A sides interested, Schelotto should be happy with what’s in front of him, especially since he ‘wants to return’ to the Italian league.

Both have ‘made contact’, suggesting talks are ongoing.
