Antonio Conte saw his Chelsea side demolish Everton at the weekend, as Ronald Koeman’s men were beaten 5-0. Chelsea put in one of the best performances of the season, from any side, and their Italian manager will surely have been pleased with what was on show.
Conte appears to have completely turned around Chelsea’s fortunes, and manages to have got them playing three at the back in a way that demonstrates just how well the manager is getting his ideas over.
Judging on the Everton match, Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport have picked two Chelsea players for their European Team of the Week. Each week, the newspaper picks an eleven from leagues around Europe, excluding their own Serie A.
Eden Hazard finds his way into the selection after another impressive performance, and he’s joined by new signing Marcos Alonso, which will be especially pleasing. Alonso was a surprising purchase for some, but he’s slotted into Conte’s Chelsea system well.
