Wolverhampton Wanderers’ victory against Besiktas last night is dominating the headlines in the Turkish sport media, and the newspapers are evaluating the performance of the Premier League side against the Black Eagles.

Willy Boly’s stoppage-time winner means Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have got their first victory in this Europa League campaign, but Posta say Wolves were very ‘lucky’ to win the game.

In their match report the Turkish newspaper claim Wolves ‘didn’t want to attack’ especially in the first half and they played for a draw. They believe that it was only due to Besiktas’ mistakes at the back that the English side managed to pick up all three points.

Milliyet columnist Atilla Gokce also writes Besiktas at least deserved a point but Wolves made the Super Lig side lose their concentration and eventually get the winner.

After this result, Wolves are in a good position ahead of their doubleheader against Slovan Bratislava, while Besiktas’ chances of progressing in the group now look very slim.
