Galatasaray are interested in Liverpool’s out-of favour defender Mamadou Sakho reveal Fanatik. The Turkish side are in the hunt for a defender in January after Serdar Aziz’s was ruled out for the season due to the broken leg he suffered against Osmanlıspor last weekend.

Galatasaray board have reportedly told manager Jan Older Riekerink that they’ll come him with a shortlist of defenders and he’ll pick one from, but the Dutch manager really wants Sakho despite him not being on the list.

Galatasaray offered Riekerink a list of cheaper options, but Riekerink believes Liverpool’s Sakho will solve the ongoing problems with Galatasaray’s defence, and has told the board getting him would be massive business for the club.

Fanatik says Riekerink’s advice to board has interested president Dursun Özbek and he’ll have a look at Sakho’s situation again after the transfer window reopens on January 5th.

The 26-year old wants to remain in England, but Galatasaray’s board will now try to convince Sakho to head to Turkey.

Fanatik says Galatasaray’s offer will be a loan deal, and the Turkish club will offer Liverpool €1.5 million for a 6-month loan stint.
