Fenerbahce will be looking for a goalkeeper in the summer and West Ham United’s Adrian and Rennes’ Benoit Costil are the top of their list according to Sabah Spor.
Sarı Kanarya, as Fenerbahce are widely known in Turkey, will be looking for a replacement for their captain Volkan Demirel because the Turkish goalkeeper will be 36 years old when next season starts. Fenerbahce’s board think signing a goalkeeper will ease the pressure on Volkan Demirel and Adrian is seen as a perfect choice for the Turkish club.
Volkan recently said a new deal will not be a problem for both sides and eagerly commented “I’ll sign an empty piece of paper”, but Fenerbahçe board still believe it’ll be a good idea to sign a new goalkeeper.
West Ham’s Spanish goalkeeper Adrian is under contract until June 2017, and the Turkish media believe he will subsequently become a free agent next summer. However, West Ham have an option to extend Adrian’s deal for a further two seasons.
The 29-year old has lost his place in Slaven Bilic’s side to Darren Randolph in recent weeks, and if that situations continues it would be no surprise if Adrian agitated for an exit.
Fenerbahce are a huge club, regularly in Europe, and have been title runners up for the past two seasons.
