Regional newspaper 61saat claim Trabzonspor are interested in signing Sunderland defender Lamine Kone.
After recently signing Iranian centre back Majid Hosseini, the Turkish club are still looking to add another defender to their squad and the Sunderland player has emerged as a target.
Kone has suffered back to back relegations with Sunderland and 61saat say the Ivorian is expected to leave the club as a result.
Trabzonspor officials have reportedly asked about his situation and contact has been made with the Sunderland defender.
The Turkish club have also been linked with Kone’s Sunderland teammate Papy Djilobodji earlier in the transfer window, but these claims have gone quiet in recent weeks.
It was reported Trabzonspor were interested in the former Chelsea player and were looking to loan him for the season.
Kone played 24 games for Sunderland in the Championship last season and is under contract with the Black Cats until June 2021.
