Trabzonspor are interested in Aston Villa forward Libor Kozak according to Turkish newspaper TakvimSpor.

The Turkish club Kare looking to sign a forward due to their problems in front of goal this season, with Everton’s Oumar Niasse also an option. The Trabzonspor board believe signing a forward could be a good move for the club as they have one of the worst scoring records in Turkey this season.

Aston Villa signed Kozak from Lazio for €6.5 million, but things haven’t gone well for both parties with Aston Villa suffering relegation last season, and Kozak having to deal with his injuries.

The Czech forward reportedly is one of the targets for Trabzonspor manager Ersun Yanal as they’re preparing to sell former Sunderland striker Dame N’Doye, and also considering cutting short Hyun-Suk-Yun’s loan spell.

In the past Trabzonspor have tried to sign Kozak twice, but the wage issues and the size of the transfer fee proved a stumbling block for any possible deal to be made. This time the Trabzonspor board are hoping things will be much easier as Takvim reports Aston Villa are ready to allow him to leave on a free transfer.

The 27-year-old arrived in England over 3 seasons ago, but has only played 20 league games for Aston Villa, scoring just 5 goals. The forward has also been frozen out this season and has played just 77 minutes of Championship football.
