Sabah today claim Fenerbahce are still looking to sign former FC Porto defender Diego Reyes on a free transfer, but face competition from Newcastle United and West Ham United.

The Turkish newspaper report Fenerbahce sporting director Damien Comolli is keen to sign a central defender in this transfer window and Reyes is on the Turkish club’s short list.

However, Sabah report West Ham, Newcastle United and Bordeaux are also interested in signing the player.

Reyes is currently a free agent after his contract with Porto expired earlier this summer and Sabah say Fenerbahce are ready to undergo a detailed medical on Reyes due to past injuries. The player was ruled out this summer’s World Cup in Russia due to injury.

Newcastle United and West Ham’s interest has been reported in the Turkish and Portuguese press before and it seems the two Premier League clubs are still tracking the Mexico international according to these latest claims.
