Yahoo Sports France are reporting on Tuesday evening that Manchester United have made a ‘firm’ offer for Nicolas Pepe.

They give no further details on the offer, other than that it’s been rejected by the player’s current club Lille.

Pepe himself is said to be ‘ok’ with the thought of the Old Trafford move, so it’s possibly something which could be reignited, something which Yahoo go on to suggest.

The attacker had a great season with Lille and there’s been several claims of offers. Liverpool were repeatedly linked, something talked down by their local media, with similar happening for Bayern Munich.

Offers from Inter Milan, of €60m and €90m, were claimed and that didn’t seem so believable given the Italian club can’t get the money together for their main target Romelu Lukaku.

A €80m offer from Arsenal was also claimed, which again seemed strange given their finances.

Pepe can play on the right so it makes some sense for Manchester United, who can afford him, although it’s clear someone has been pushing claims around the player, especially after a poor Africa Cup of Nations.
