Now that the Kalidou Koulibaly deal is almost done, Chelsea have turned their attention to another centre-back.
That man is Presnel Kimpembe, as the Blues lost two centre-backs, and could end up seeing César Azpilicueta go too.
Therefore, Thomas Tuchel has urged the new owners at Chelsea to replace the departed duo, which is the first thing they started working on alongside the Raheem Sterling transfer.
Now, the news that Kimpembe was a target emerged a few days ago, but Foot Mercato in France now bring a fresh update, claiming the German manager has already played his part.
The French website explain Tuchel ‘has spoken’ with the centre-back over the phone, where he ‘presented the project and the detail of what he wanted to put together with him’.
While that’s all well and good, Kimpembe ‘feels very comfortable in Paris with whom he’s always dreamt of winning the Champions League’.
That being said, should he leave, he ‘prioritises an exit to England’.
On top of Tuchel’s handiwork, ‘first exchanges have taken place between his agents and the Blues chiefs’, meaning Chelsea are already hard at work on this.
