Despite a win over Luton Town in the FA Cup, the rumours about Frank Lampard being replaced at Stamford Bridge haven’t gone away.

The Chelsea manager has found himself under increased pressure after a series of poor results in the Premier League, leading to rumours he could see Thomas Tuchel take his role.

Those started following the German manager’s sacking from Paris Saint-Germain and have picked up pace over the past few days.

In fact, it appears a deal could be very close to being struck with Tuchel, as RMC Sport’s Mohamed Bouhafsi took to Twitter to explain he was ‘very close to returning to work’ with him ‘finalising his arrival’ with the Chelsea board.

It’s said the manager has been in talks for ‘many days’ with the Blues, seemingly behind Lampard’s back, regarding a contract that would be three and a half years with the option of an extra one.

This comes as many reports emerge that Lampard is on the verge of being sacked.
