Raphaël Varane is on the way out of Real Madrid, according to repeat reports from the Spanish media.
The defender is thought to be keen on trying a new adventure elsewhere, having won everything he can during his time with Real Madrid. Manchester United have been the club most linked with the defender, in claims which have gone back several years, and now other clubs are being pulled into the picture.
AS pick up claims from Bild of Chelsea being in the picture to sign Varane, and they make Real Madrid’s stance clear on the matter. It’s stated ‘Tuchel has requested his incorporation’, and Los Blancos would be opening to a sale.
That’s because Varane’s contract expires at the end of June in 2022, and without a renewal there’s the prospect of losing the Frenchman for free. Therefore, Madrid would rather make sure they collect a big chunk of cash, and are prepared to sell.
There’s a suggestion around €70m would be enough, which Chelsea would obviously have to consider carefully, if it’s correct that Thomas Tuchel has asked for the signing to happen.
