Chelsea are one of the clubs interested in Erling Haaland.
Earlier this week, we covered claims made by TuttoMercatoWeb that Roman Abramovich wants to sign the Borussia Dortmund star ‘at all costs’.
These claims are backed up in Germany by Bild, and their title reads ‘Tuchel has the green light for Haaland-Transfer’.
Within the report, it’s stated Thomas Tuchel has received an approval from Chelsea’s billionaire owner to sign the ‘expensive player’.
Various claims have indicated the striker has a release clause that will come into effect in 2022. For the next market, however, there isn’t any buyout clause and the report states his valuation is set at €110m.
Despite football clubs across the world facing financial impact due by the Covid-19 crisis, Bild thinks Abramovich will have no problem to spend in excess of €100m on Haaland.
Tuchel managed BVB for two years between 2015 and 2017, and should he be successful in bringing the Norway international to Stamford Bridge, he would not only ‘annoy’ Dortmund bosses Hans-Joachim Watzke (61) and Michael Zorc, but also their fans.
Although Chelsea are keen on securing Haaland’s services, there are doubts at Dortmund that if ‘Chelsea are the club that appeals to him after BVB’.
Michael Zorc, the Bundesliga side’s sporting director insisted the club are planning to keep the frontman beyond this season.
Bild, however, warns Haaland’s exit ‘cannot be ruled out’ if the German club fails to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
