Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has conceded seven goals in three league games this season.
Reportedly, Erik ten Hag isn’t convinced by the Spaniard.
This has seen Manchester United look for a new custodian to provide cover and competition for De Gea.
Recent reports in Germany have stated the Red Devils are keen on Eintracht Frankfurt keeper Kevin Trapp. It was also explained the Premier League side have made an offer to the 32-year-old.
Bild on Wednesday stated Manchester United want a decision on a deal to sign the Germany international before the weekend.
Trapp has now spoken out and made clear he is no longer seriously considering a move.
“In the past few days, much has been reported about Manchester United’s interest. It is true that there is a written offer. Manchester United are a world level club. I hope everyone can understand that I am dealing with such an offer and thinking about it,” the keeper told Bild.
“Yesterday, I informed the responsible persons of both clubs that I choose Eintracht. I experienced sensational things here with Eintracht and we made history together. The start of the season was bumpy, but I have absolute confidence in us.”
Trapp’s decision to snub Manchester United will force them to look for another goalkeeper in the last days of the summer window.
