Catalan newspaper Sport go with a headline saying ‘Triple KO’ on Tuesday as three more Barcelona players are facing injury issues.
The biggest issue for the club and fitness right now is Luis Suarez, Sport explain. Struggling with an issue in his right knee, the club on Monday communicated that Suarez is injured, along with Jasper Cillessen and Arthur Melo.
None of the injuries are thought to be serious, with the Dutch goalkeeper likely facing the longer layoff of the three with a muscle strain. Arthur has an adductor issue which will be managed.
Barcelona have explained Suarez ‘will follow a biological therapy with stem cells to be treated for the discomfort in the right knee that, now, will force him to stop in full competition with his club’.
Sport explain the same knee was causing the Uruguayan problems last season and has become a long standing problem for the player.
This takes Barcelona’s injury list to seven, with Mundo Deportivo today calling it a ‘plague of injuries’.
Along with the three already mentioned, Sergi Roberto, Rafinha, Sergi Samper and Thomas Vermaelen are all unavailable for Ernesto Valverde.
